I am really super proud to be part of an England team that came third at the parasurfing European Championships. My teammates did amazing, coaches were Legends and it was a really enjoyable team trip. Despite my performance being not what I wanted, i’m fully embracing and enjoying the parasurfing family, and how much i have to learn. I couldn’t have got there without the key local support from DH Earthworks, Devon Contractors, Adsurf in Bude, The Plym Group, Progressive Systems and C-Skins wetsuits.

I’m really fortunate to be sat on a plane on my way to the parasurfing world championships, Oceanside California.  I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to get around to do this blog regarding the parasurfing European Championships in Vigo, two weeks ago. Rollercoaster couple of weeks.
Patos beach where we had the  European Championships turned out to be A wonderful holiday destination, but not so much a surf destination  It was sheltered on all sides and with an island to the front, so the waves were never going to be big, and the shore break meant they were always gonna dump. By that I mean the waves literally Peak and then break with no time to ride. However,  these conditions were particularly flat It was the kind of glassy water that me and my friend Lee would love to paddle board on. Certainly not try and hold an international surf competition on, it was a little bit insulting in that respect.
That being said I didn’t perform As well as I would have liked, but on such small waves I was really limited with anything I could do. It was a competition for people more able than me, having no trunk, lower back or leg muscles on such a short wave means I don’t have time to manoeuvre the board Like people with those working body parts can.
It was tough and I found it hard but I did come away from it understanding and learning, which is great for my Parasurfing journey. Still lots to figure out, my Good Fin surfboard is absolutely my research and development board. Still figuring out where best to have handles to maximise what movement I am able to achieve in a board.
